Want to plan the perfect wedding menu? As soon as you sit down and start working on it, you’ll realize that it’s easier said than done! With so many elements to take into account, a wedding menu is one of the most complex elements of the wedding.
Thankfully, we’ve got a few tips to help you out:
Don’t make your guests choose — It can be tough to choose between a delicious steak dish, chicken dish, and fish dish. Your guests may like certain elements of multiple dishes, and you forcing them to make a choice may make them dissatisfied with their choice in the end.
Instead, give them ALL of the options–just in much smaller sizes. Have the chef prepare mini-dishes, featuring all of your protein options in an elegant dish. Or, give your guests the option to prepare their own meals, picking and choosing items a la carte. Your guests will be much happier this way, and everyone will get exactly what they want!
Make it themed — Having a theme for your wedding menu may sound complicated, but it doesn’t have to be! You can keep the theme utterly simple, using options like:
- Your favorite food — If you love pizza, have that as the theme. You have pizza-shaped appetizers, delicious pizza as the entrée, and even pizza-like desserts. Choose your favorite food, and use it as the theme for your meal.
- Your culture or heritage — Are you of Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Cuban, or Argentine descent? Serve traditional or contemporary dishes from your country of ancestry, and give people a chance to experience your culture and cuisine.
- Your favorite color — Have all of the foods prepared around your favorite color–it’s fun and creative!
