How to Do Your Wedding Day Right Part 2

How to Do Your Wedding Day Right Part 2

Don’t let your wedding day get you down! Here are a few tips to help you do the day right:

Turn Off Your Phone (or at least SIGN OUT) — You are going to be getting A LOT of messages, texts, and emails from your friends, all of them wishing you the best and congratulating you on your big day. But today is NOT the day to spend glued to your phone! Today is the day to focus on getting ready, relaxing, and enjoying yourself.

It’s time to turn off the phone, disconnecting you from everyone who does not NEED to get in touch with you on this day. If you need to be reachable in case of a wedding-related emergency, at least sign out of your social media accounts. Have someone check texts and field calls for you, and only answer your phone if you absolutely must.

Find the Right Place to Get Ready — Getting ready at home can be very stressful, as you’ll often feel the temptation to clean, straighten things up, or finish last-minute packing. DON’T stay at home, but go prepare yourself in a relaxing, comfortable environment. Most wedding venues have a bridal suite where you can change, shower, relax, and get your hair and makeup done. If you don’t want to use the bridal suite at the venue, check into a hotel room.

Find a place where you feel comfortable and at ease, and it will be much easier to survive the arduous preparation process!

Breathe — Take a few moments alone every hour, doing something that helps you to relax. Hours of gossiping with the bridesmaids, having your hair and makeup done, and trying to get the dress on just right will take its toll on you, so give yourself a break every now and then. It will make a HUGE difference!
