Who doesn’t love a hot summer? It’s a wonderful time of year to get married, but there are a few things you need to know about a summer wedding:
The menu options are glorious — With all the summer fruits and vegetables in season, you have MANY more options for your wedding menu!
It’s perfect for a late-night party -– The heat may be too intense during the day, but it’s nice and warm well after the sun sets. If your wedding is all about the after-party, summer is the best time of year to get married.
A wide selection of flowers — While the summer heat may cause the more delicate blooms to wilt, most of the seasonal flowers will survive. You can add a lot of color and life to your wedding with all the bright flowers in season.
The days are longer — During the summer months, the sun can set as late as 9 PM. This means you have more daylight for wedding photos, an outdoor ceremony, and even the party. If your guests are night owls who want to celebrate into the night, it doesn’t get better than summer.
The heat can be intense —This is especially true if you’re anywhere in the Southern United States or most of Continental Europe. Places like Spain, the south of Italy, Arizona, Nevada, and Florida can be brutally hot during the summer!
Prices are high — While summer weddings aren’t as popular as spring weddings, they come in a close second. There will be a bit less competition for the vendors and venues, but the prices won’t drop.
Summer vacations — Summer is the time when your friends and family like to take a few days/weeks off to travel or go on holiday. Getting them to come to your wedding may prove challenging if they already have vacation plans.
